Microwave Won’t Turn On
If your microwave refuses to operate at all (even the clock), there could be a variety of causes. Sometimes, a fuse could be at fault. A fuse is a device that will cut off the electric flow if the current becomes too strong. It does this to protect your microwave (and other electronics) against damage. Check your fuses and see if any of them need to be replaced. If the fuse is fine, check out the door switch on your microwave. If the door switch is defective, it will need to be replaced.
Sparks Inside Microwave
If you see sparks inside your microwave when it is on, the first thing you need to do is check the internal cavity. If there is any old food or food particles, thoroughly clean them off. This food continues to cook the more you use your microwave, and could cause the sparks. Check the ceiling of the microwave for grease, and clean that as well. If this does not help, make sure to check that the microwave stirrer is spinning during operation.
Turntable is Not Spinning
If your turntable is not spinning, make sure that it is lined up in the microwave properly and there are no obstructions (such as old food) in the way. Also check the carousel cooking tray to make sure it is sitting correctly in the microwave.
