Q: Repair or replace? What’s a better option for me?
A: Often times the better choice is repairing. The reason for this is that repairs are commonly a cheaper option than replacing your entire appliance.
Older appliances, even though they may not be as aesthetically pleasing or have as many options as the newer ones – were built better. Newer appliances with more options, components and even computer based systems are cause for more problems to occur.
Over the last decade, the prices of appliances have exponentially increased. In the past, for $400 you would be able to get the newest, brand name, top of the line washer. In the present, $400 gets you a run of the mill standard washer that will likely require many repairs.
Keeping your existing appliance can save you money in the long term, and also protect the environment.
